Best isolation destinations to visit (when we can)

During this time of isolation, we have been able to stop and reset and think about what’s important and how we want to live. As we haven’t been able to go anywhere, we can always dream and pin to our vision board, places we can’t wait to explore once this is done. C+G take you to their top 5 throughout Australia.

Warramba, Capertee Valley, NSW

This is one destination that is TOP of our list as soon as Iso is finished. Gee has been particularly close to even before Edwina and Neil had started renovations.

Warramba, the name of the property, is about slowing down. The name actually means ‘turtle’ in the local Wiradjuri language and that is the pace you are expected to take when here. The beautiful 1890s sandstone farmhouse on 100 acres is set in the regenerated farmland in the Greater Blue Mountains. They have clearly thought of every aspect - from the glamping style hut on the property to the highland cows, it is your true escape in the Capertee Valley, 3 hours drive from Sydney or 1 hour from Mudgee, a popular little country town filled with great produce and wineries. They also have access to their rustic shearing sheds, windmills and farming equipment to have the true bush feel - yet somehow you feel you are involved in a photoshoot as it is so picturesque with everything catered for.

Fender House, Mount Martha, VIC

If you are in Victoria, then Fender House is one to look out for on Airbnb. It is a mid-century marvel in Mount Martha nestled in gumtrees, which was designed by Karl Fender (Fender Katsaldis Designs), one of the world-leading architects. He was renowned for properties such as EUREKA Tower and MoNa.

Owners, Katie Brannaghan and husband Ian purchased this property in 2017 and undertook massive renovations to bring this back to life. We love the feeling of this house and especially the pool area, fantastic for entertaining while we have all been stuck inside. Great to see they are using linen bedding too! It reminds me of a mixture between Palm Springs and Miami. This is certainly one we’ll be adding to our next places to stay when needing inspiration for next season's linen bedding colours. We can feel the good vibes and inspiration!

UnYoked, NSW, VIC, and QLD

This is a story we’ve followed for a while now - Un Yoked, a series of Japanese and Scandi designed huts off the beaten path in NSW and VIC, designed by two brothers. They have created the ultimate slow movement. These two were ahead of their time. They would only give the client the address a few hours before they were headed to their destination as this is all part of the experience.

During Iso, we’ve actually enjoyed slowing down, appreciating our morning coffee, and enjoying time at home. That’s the experience you get to feel in these huts with carefully curated moments for you to enjoy the simple life. As they say “We give you easy access to the wild, so getting lost in nature becomes as natural as getting stuck in traffic. This is not a hotel. Think wildness experience, not a chocolate on the pillow”

We can’t wait to get there during winter, sipping on hot chocolate in front of a log fire while watching the stars then curling up in the cute hut for a long sleep (with NO internet or laptop).
